What are the opening hours?

Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre is open Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm and Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm. It is closed on Queensland public holidays.

Is there an admission fee?

No, entry to the centre itself including the Art Gallery and gift shop is free for all visitors.

Where is the centre located?

The physical address is 1711 Gold Coast Highway, Burleigh Heads, situated alongside Tallebudgera Creek.

How do I get there?

You can arrive by car via the Gold Coast Highway or take public transport. A bus stop is located directly in front of the main entrance on the Gold Coast Highway. More information can be found on our Getting Here  page.

Is there parking?

Onsite general and reserved permit parking is available. If you use a reserved space, please obtain a temporary permit from our team inside the centre.

Can I buy authentic souvenirs?

Yes, the Jellurgal Gift Shop features handcrafted items including boomerangs, didgeridoos, and locally designed jewellery.

Are there food options?

The centre has a small café serving barista-quality coffee and ice cream.

Tours and activities

What is the best tour for me?

All Jellurgal tours are suitable for all ages, with the walking tours based at Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre accessible for prams and wheelchairs. To match you to the best option, call our friendly team on 07 5525 5955.

What should I bring on a tour?

Participants are required to wear enclosed, flat walking shoes. It is also recommended to bring a hat, sunscreen and water bottle.

Are the tours accessible?

The Oceanview track provides limited wheelchair and pram-assisted access for guided walks. More information can be found on our Accessibility page or you can give our team a call on 07 5525 5955 to share your needs and we'll help tailor a plan for you.

What is the cancellation policy?

Online tickets are non-refundable however we are happy to work with you to reschedule your tour if unexpected issues arise with your selected date/time.

What if it rains?

Jellurgal tours will still go ahead in light rainy conditions, with alternate options available to keep everyone safe. We recommend you bring along an umbrella or rain poncho.

If your tour is cancelled due to extreme weather conditions, we will work closely with you to find a suitable alternative date for your experience.
We aim to accommodate your schedule and ensure you don't miss out on the tour. However, if rescheduling is not feasible, we will issue a full refund for your booking.

Where is the meeting point for tours?

For our guided walking tours (Jellurgal Walkabout, Jellurgal Journey, Jellurgal Little Explorers, Culture & Connection, Educational Excursions and International School Tours), please meet at Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre, 1711 Gold Coast Highway, Burleigh Heads. A member of the Jellurgal team will greet you and check you in for the tour at the front desk. See information above regarding getting to the centre, parking etc.

The Cruise with Culture departs from the marina at 74 Seaworld Drive, Main Beach. The Kokomo Cruises vessel is moored just south of the Marina Mirage Shopping Centre. Paid and free parking is available at the marina, which is located a short walk from a bus stop along Seaworld Drive and the HOPO Ferry Marina Mirage ferry stop.

Can I take photos of the tour and/or guides?
Our team are happy for you to take photos and short videos during your tour to share with family and friends. We kindly ask that full stories are not recorded for reproduction or sharing.
