Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre is the Gold Coast's only dedicated Aboriginal cultural centre and is fully owned and operated by the local Aboriginal community. 

Jellurgal is an initiative of Gold Coast-based Kalwun Development Corporation which provides a range of services and facilities for the Gold Coast's community of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in areas including housing, health, aged care, child and family support services and more.

Jellurgal acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the Lands upon which we work – the Kombumerri, Bullongin, Wanggeriburra, Birinburra, Mununjali and Minjungbal peoples and the wider Yugambeh language speaking group. We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, past, present, and emerging.

Jellurgal Cultural Information Principles

Jellurgal Cultural Information Principles ensure cultural knowledge is gathered, shared, and stored through respectful co-design, ongoing consultation, cultural safety, consent, accountability and genuine relationships with community knowledge holders. Jellurgal preserves and protects cultural traditions and reflects the local community's heritage by ensuring experiences are authentic and represent the rich culture of the Yugambeh Language Group and Kombumerri people. Jellurgal ensures authenticity by consulting with local Traditional Custodians who provide cultural guidance from the outset. These Custodians are respected leaders and knowledge holders, helping Jellurgal present true accounts of local culture. The organisation is supported by Kalwun and the broader Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and also engages with government, tourism, and community stakeholders to uphold mutual respect and shared values.
