Jellurgal was established in December 2012 as an initiative of parent company, Kalwun Development Corporation Ltd (Kalwun).

Kalwun is a not-for-profit, Aboriginal community controlled organisation providing comprehensive health care, child and family services and community care interventions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities on the Gold Coast.

Kalwun works to Close the Gap in life expectancy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by improving access to culturally appropriate care and support services and any profits from Kalwun and Jellurgal go back into initiatives to reinforce this goal.

Part of Kalwun’s mission is to ensure that our community remains strong in our cultural heritage and that the whole community has a level of respect and an appreciation of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history. From our tours and products offered at the centre, to the cultural services provided to the community at events and in early learning programs, connection to culture and the sharing of that culture with others, is our number one priority.

Jellurgal strives to be a recognised, reliable, unique and authentic Aboriginal tourism entity through a formula of consistency, reliability and respect.
