Cara Shields
Cara Shields is a Wiradjuri artist who was born in Narromine and grew up in Dubbo, Central Western NSW.
After studying Aboriginal Art and Cultural Practices in the early 2000's, Cara took a break from painting and has now returned.
Cara likes to work with ochre pigments incorporating the pigments with acrylic paint and also lino printing.
She draws her inspiration from tree carvings and the natural patterns that occur in trees due to removal of bark or natural wear and tear.
Cara has now settled in Beenleigh, previously she has lived on the Gold Coast and Central Coast.
